Cadillac XT4 Towing Capacity

Cadillac's XT4 is a sub-compact crossover with plenty of storage space at the rear and a roomy passenger cabin. The XT4 also offers impressive towing abilities for its class, making it an ideal vehicle for planning a trip to the lake or a longer vacation. Here's a look at this Cadillac's towing abilities. more Cadillac XT4 Towing Capacity The 2021 XT4 has a maximum towing capacity of 2,500 pounds. This should be more than enough to tow a small trailer or boat. However, if you plan on pulling larger trailers or an RV, you may want to consider other vehicles in the Cadillac lineup, such as the XT5 compact SUV. It's important to remember that this towing capacity applies to trailers with their own braking system. Trailers that are not capable of braking will reduce the towing capacity from Cadillac's headline figure. In case you need to transport more cargo, this Cadillac also features over 22 cubic feet of space behind the rear row of seats, which is among the best in the subcompact SUV class. The XT4's upper limit for hauling cargo is about 1,490 pounds. XT4's Engine Performance The XT4's solid towing performance for a vehicle in the subcompact SUV class is ensured by its engine, which is a 2.0-liter inline-four. The XT4's engine puts out 237 horsepower and 258 pound feet of torque, helping you to get the traction you need when towing on roads or slightly rougher surfaces. Power to the engine is provided by a nine-speed automatic transmission. One great thing about this power train is that it balances a useful towing capacity with good fuel economy. The XT4 manages 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. About the XT4's Trailering Package The XT4's trailering package includes a number of features to improve your vehicle's performance and safety while you're towing. The first is a heavy-duty cooling system, which ensures that the engine temperature is kept stable while it's working overtime to pull loads. By keeping the engine temperature steady, the cooling system can ensure that the 2.0-liter inline-four continues performing to the best of its abilities. The second key feature is a 2-inch receiver. This makes it much easier for you to connect with the trailer's hitch. The firm connection this produces can help you feel more confident while towing a trailer, especially if you're traveling over rough ground. The final feature worth noting in the package is the wire connector. This allows you to easily connect the trailer's lights to your vehicle. Clear lighting on your trailer is a crucial part of towing safely, since it makes it easier for other motorists to observe a safe distance from your trailer. In addition, the lighting can come in useful if you're towing when it's dark. The trailering package is available with all of the XT4's trims. Does the XT4 Have All-Wheel Drive? The XT4 features front-wheel drive as standard. However, you can upgrade to all-wheel drive at an extra cost of $2,500. All-wheel drive can assist you if you tow regularly. It can provide you with better control and more stability when you're pulling the extra weight of a trailer at the rear. All-wheel drive can also help you cope with rough terrain, such as a track on the way to a lake. Towing and Driver Assistance Technology Several driver assistance features in this Cadillac may come in handy when you're towing. For example, the blind spot monitoring feature can detect any vehicles entering your blind spot, which will be larger when you're towing a trailer. The XT4 also has an optional surround-view parking camera, which displays an aerial view of your XT4 as you maneuver in and out of a parking spot. This technology can also assist you when you're trying to hitch up a trailer or navigate safely with a trailer in a tight spot. Cadillac's electro-hydraulic braking assist can also help you bring your XT4 to a swift and safe stop, even while you're towing a trailer. Forward automatic emergency braking comes standard, while rear automatic emergency braking is also available. Cadillac XT4 Trims and Towing The 2021 XT4 is available in three trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. Since all XT4s feature the same 2.0-liter engine, each trim has the upper limit for towing of 2,500 pounds. However, you may find that certain useful features are only available with a specific trim. If you step up to the Premium Luxury trim, blind spot monitoring comes standard. You can also opt for the enhanced visibility package, which has some useful components if you tow regularly. These include the surround-view parking camera, parallel and perpendicular parking assist, and a rear view camera. The Sport trim features the same benefits as you get with the Premium Luxury XT4. The additions are mainly stylistic, such as a sport steering wheel, exterior design features, and sport front seats. Now that you've learned a bit about how the XT4 performs when it comes to towing, it's time to check out our inventory. Caddilac SUvs on a dirt road

How Long Do Cadillacs Last?

With rugged, body-on-frame construction, Cadillacs are built to last longer than most other vehicles. According to a study by iSeeCars, Cadillac Escalade ESV is among the top range SUVs that can last for over 200,000 miles. In the study, Cadillac came fourth as the brand with vehicles that last longer on the road. more Do Cadillacs Last? Whether you're venturing off-road, tackling curves on a mountain road, or simply cruising along the highway, Cadillacs have been built to withstand long rides. Cadillac models last long because of engineering excellence and top technological integrations. There is a reason Cadillac has received various auto awards since it began car manufacturing in the early 1900s. Cadillacs feature robust engineering from under the hood to the roof. Their engines, electronics, and mechanics result from years of research. From its first water-cooled eight-cylinder engine to today's V-8 engine, Cadillac has continued to empower its vehicles with revolutionary engines. A combination of precision and creative engineering makes Cadillacs one of the most durable cars you can find. Cadillac Reliability Ratings While Cadillac prides itself on building lasting sedans and SUVs, some Cadillacs don't have good reliability ratings. Consumer Reports' dismal reliability ratings dent the good name Cadillac has built for more than a century. Understandably, most Cadillacs previously used the General Motors' Northstar engine. This engine was considered one of the most complex engines. Cadillac drivers didn't know how to maintain it. As a result, they experienced problems with the cars using the engines. This explains the low reliability ratings. Cadillac cars are as good as how you maintain them. Improper maintenance can shorten the life or cause problems like in any other car. GM discontinued production of Northstar engines in 2011 in favor of the V-series engines which boasts of high performance, refined drives, and better handling. Cadillacs produced using the new engines are reliable and durable. For example, the 2021 Cadillac XT5, which uses a V-6 engine, enjoys good reliability ratings. Since Cadillac adopted the V-series engines, its cars are reliable as the new engines are easier to maintain than the Northstar engines. Cadillac Models Without a doubt, Cadillac is one of the oldest car brands in the world. From the famous 1937 Cadillac Phaeton 5859 to the 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV, Cadillac continues to express its uniqueness and refinement in its sedans and SUVs. Cadillac's stamp of luxury is ever present whether you look at its early finned sedans or the modern sleek sedans. Let's see modern Cadillac models to consider when shopping for a pre-owned or a new Cadillac. Crossovers Cadillac designs powerful crossovers for people who want a mix of comfort, luxury, and performance. With no shortage of luxury small-SUVs in the market, Cadillac's XT4, XT5, and XT6 models will excite buyers who want traditionally upright and sharp-edged designs. These modern crossovers are equipped with turbocharged V-6 engines. Cadillac XT models are reliable, stylish, and dependable crossovers that balance functionality and fashion. Cadillac XT4 is a compact small-SUV, which is the smallest of the XT models. It prides itself on the style and luxury of any Cadillac brand. It seats five people and has great fuel efficiency.  Like the XT4 model, the XT5 crossover seats five people but it has the versatility of a crossover and the flair of an SUV. The XT4 is slightly smaller both inside and out than the XT5 While these small SUVs are full of spirited performance, none of them rivals the XT6, which has a third-row seat. The XT6 comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 310 HP. Larger than other XT models, the XT6 is a luxury mid-size SUV that seats, seven people. Sedans The Cadillac CT4 and CT5 replace the outgoing ATS and CTS sedans, respectively. Both are sports sedans designed to bring luxury within the reach of many buyers. Like the posh Cadillac XT crossovers, these sedans are built for durability and reliability. The CT4 and CT5 models come with a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Unlike their predecessors, the new sports sedans enjoy better handling and high-performance automatic transmission. The CT4 is more compact than the CT5 and features an intuitive infotainment system. This means it has less legroom and headroom than the CT5. Both sedans have similar MPG ratings and torque, which translates to similar performance on cities and highways. However, the CT5 edges over the CT4 when it comes to cabin size and cargo space. These Cadillac sedans share an engine and much of their interior styling, but the CT4 appeals as a compact sports sedan while the CT5 leans toward a luxury cruiser. SUVs Cadillac SUVs continue to dominate the luxury SUV market due to their practicality, comfort, and performance. Through the years, Cadillac has managed to stay ahead of the competition by giving brand loyalists the luxury, space, and power they need. Cadillac's most common SUV is the Cadillac Escalade which shares many features with its close and bigger variant Cadillac Escalade ESV. The Cadillac Escalade features a sophisticated exterior design and a spacious interior that's integrated with hi-tech components.  Cadillac interiors are renowned for their striking and stylish appeal. The 2021 Escalade has appointed front seats which are equipped with heating, cooling, and massage functionalities. The design of the Escalade provides a well-lit interior because of the power sunroof. The Escalade is paired with top-tier safety features including a pedestrian braking system, blind-spot monitoring, rear pedestrian alert, and adaptive cruise control. The Cadillac Escalade ESV is among the top cars that can surpass 200,000 miles. There isn't much difference between the Escalade and Escalade ESV. However, if you want an SUV hauling a third-row seat with plenty of legroom and cargo space, then Cadillac Escalade ESV is your friend. The Cadillac ESV is the longest in the SUV class, and most of that translates to ample cabin space and more cargo volume. The bold and bossy Cadillac also has a larger fuel tank than the standard Escalade. The ESV has a larger trailering capacity than the standard Escalade. Both vehicles are available with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. They're also paired with Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. GM created something magical when they combined luxury-car comfort with the tested durability and performance of their truck/SUV frames. The resulting vehicle became the quintessential transport for anyone with class, style, and VIP passengers. more We're always looking to improve, and so are the engineers at Cadillac. The brand-new, fifth-generation Escalade shares the same rock-solid GMT1XX platform as the Tahoe, Yukon, and Suburban. It's bigger than the 2020 version: 8 inches longer, over 2 inches taller, and with almost 5 more inches of wheelbase. With all the seats down, you can carry over 109 cubic feet of gear. Need more room? All versions can be built as a long-wheelbase ESV, which is 15 inches longer with extra third-row legroom and over 17 more cubic feet of luggage space. Escalade's Trims Image via Flickr by Mark Morgan Trinidad B via CC BY 2.0 The new Escalade comes in five trims with numerous options for power and extra features. Beginning with the Luxury trim, you have five ways to start building your dream Escalade. You can tell elegance and opulence come standard when "Luxury" is the starting point. Here are how the various trim levels differ: Luxury: This base trim includes 22-inch alloy wheels, 12-way power front seats, a 19-speaker audio system, and an amazing 38-inch OLED dash display. Standard safety technology includes forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, and an HD surround-view system. Premium Luxury: This trim features an upgrade to Mulan leather interior, ventilated front seats, a head-up display (HUD), and a panoramic sunroof. Sport: This trim features a limited-slip differential, magnetic ride control, the Trailering Integration package, and custom gloss black details all over. Premium Luxury Platinum: This trim adds semi-aniline leather upholstery, 16-way power massaging front seats, soft-close doors, adaptive cruise control, and a 36-speaker AKG sound system by RZA. Sport Platinum: This trim provides maximum comfort and performance by adding an air-ride adaptive suspension, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and more leather to the already outstanding features of the Sport trim. The dashboard display that comes standard in every model deserves further mention. It's an industry-first system of three curved OLED screens that display information related to navigation, communication, entertainment, speed, vehicle status, and more across 38 inches of dashboard. It's tall enough to glimpse with your eyes on the road and fully customizable. Engine Options for the Escalade All five trims have the same two engine choices. You may already be familiar with the 6.2-liter gas Ecotec3 L86 V-8 engine. Chevy's been perfecting its Ecotec formula in trucks and SUVs for decades. This version delivers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It will tow up to 7,700 pounds when properly equipped. Truck people have known for a long time that a turbo-charged inline six-cylinder diesel engine is capable of tremendous power, smoothness and reliability. Many Duramax owners would never tow with anything else. Now you can get that type of power in a Cadillac. Available on all Escalade models is a new 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-six, providing 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. That's the same torque as the V-8, but the gas torque peaks at 4,100 rpm. The diesel's torque kicks in at 1,500 rpm for steadier, lower revving power. Hill climbing is so effortless that you'll forget you're pulling a trailer. Towing capacity increases to 8,200 pounds with this engine. Both engines come with a 10-speed transmission for smooth shifts and excellent low range. Special Options Once you've chosen a trim and an engine, you still have many packages and customization choices remaining. Do you want an even smarter and more capable Escalade? Do you want a head-turner no one's seen before? Cadillac has some ideas for you. Heavy-Duty Trailering Package: With this package, the Escalade attains maximum towing capacity by adding an auxiliary trailer camera, a 2-speed electronic transfer case, a trailer tire pressure monitoring system, a high capacity cooling system, and more. Performance Package: This package enhances safety and control with the addition of a trailer side blind-zone alert, limited-slip differential, integrated trailer brake controller, magnetic ride control, hitch guidance, and more. Light up the street with Cadillac logos from the side mirrors. Radiant Package. This crossover does a great job of negotiating congested traffic and narrow streets in the city, thanks to its small size, tight turning radius, and well-weighted steering. When equipped with the standard suspension, this Cadillac SUV offers the perfect blend of comfort and athleticism. Its ability to absorb bumps and road imperfections results in a composed and serene ride, while its excellent body control around turns makes it fun to drive. It returns 24/30 mpg (city/highway) with front-wheel drive and 22/29 mpg with all-wheel drive. Similar to most other luxury SUVs, the XT4 requires premium fuel. In addition, you'll find a nice selection of comfort and convenience features in the Cadillac XT4. The SUV comes standard with synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and remote start. Cargo Capacity If you regularly need to transport large objects such as sports equipment or camping gear, you'll appreciate the expansive cargo capacity of the Cadillac XT4. If you leave the rear seats up, you'll have 22.5 cubic feet of storage space. Folding those seats down will increase the cargo area to 48.9 cubic feet. Few small luxury SUVs have a larger cargo capacity. The rear seats of the XT4 fold almost flat, which makes it easier for you to organize cargo. Also, this crossover has a standard power lift-gate and an available hands-free power lift-gate for more convenient loading and unloading. Infotainment Features Every Cadillac XT4 is fitted with a Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system. Located within easy reach of the driver, this system is user-friendly and features a responsive touch screen and crisp and clear images. Are Cadillacs Expensive to Maintain?

Cadillacs provide owners with a superior driving experience, luxurious comfort, and elegant style. The Cadillac brand, founded in 1922, has a reputation as the benchmark of luxury domestic automobiles. The superior quality and performance of these cars have helped Cadillac sustain this outstanding reputation for over a hundred years. more The purchase and maintenance of an automobile is a substantial proportion of the average person's income, usually rating as the second-highest expense for most Americans after housing costs. While you may desire to own a new Cadillac, it's important to be aware of the maintenance costs of the car. Luxury automobiles by definition cost more money to maintain than economy cars since they are of a higher quality and standard. Statistics show that Cadillac is in the top 13 percent of cars based on how expensive the cars are to maintain. Let's explore the maintenance costs of a Cadillac and estimate how much they are to maintain over time. How to Estimate Annual Maintenance Costs of a Cadillac A common way for experts to estimate annual maintenance costs for automobiles is to calculate the predicted expense for oil changes over a specific time period. In general, oil changes are necessary every six months, so consider the price of two oil changes per year over 10 years. Other standard maintenance items include parts such as windshield wiper replacement, batteries, brake pads, and tire rotation. Not all of these will need replacing at every oil change, but they should all get regular inspections. For example, windshield-wiper blades will probably need replacing once a year, but a battery is likely to last for three to four years, depending upon usage. Brake pad replacement will vary depending on the individual use of the car and braking habits. Over time, maintenance costs usually increase due to the aging and usage of the car. Additional mechanical parts will need maintenance and replacing. Annual maintenance costs for a car will vary by age of vehicle, mileage, location, and the cost of the shop that performs the maintenance. Maintenance costs further depend upon the usage of the car, such as predominantly city or highway driving, and the consistency of maintenance. Finally, annual maintenance costs will also vary by the automobile's model. The Cadillac CTS and STS models average the least annual maintenance costs, while the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV are the most expensive to maintain. The estimated cost to maintain a Cadillac over 10 years is $12,500 to $13,500. Generally, cars that are regularly maintained at properly recommended intervals carry lower maintenance costs over time than cars that are not maintained. Getting regular maintenance not only makes the vehicle perform better but also protects the car's value over time. The scheduled maintenance guidelines recommend an oil change every 7,500 miles along with an engine air filter replacement, tire rotation, and a multi-point vehicle inspection. This is the basic recommendation for maintenance, and the owner's manual also specifies additional scheduled maintenance, such as replacing the passenger cabin air filter at 22,500 miles. Cadillac offers a bumper-to-bumper limited warranty on every new vehicle for four years or 50,000 miles. While it doesn't cover routine maintenance, the warranty covers the entire vehicle, parts, and labor, and automatically transfers to the new owner if they purchase the vehicle before the warranty expires. Cadillac Estimated Annual Expenses Due to technological advances in the design of engines and better-quality synthetic oils, today's Cadillacs can drive from 7,500 to 15,000 miles between oil changes. Many new cars today also have systems to monitor when an oil change is necessary. Obviously, your driving routine will have a huge impact on how frequently you need to change your oil. City miles and infrequent driving require less frequent maintenance than highway driving and putting on 500 miles per week. The average cost of a Cadillac oil change can range from $130 to $150. Around $40 to $50 will go for labor costs, and the rest will be for parts and products. Depending on the age of the car and wear and tear, other repairs may also be necessary. The average annual maintenance cost for a Cadillac ranges from $1,041 to $1,125. How Reliable Is a Cadillac? The reliability and lifetime of a vehicle depend in part upon its make and model. The Cadillac XTS has the best reliability ratings of all Cadillacs, based on data from warranty companies, and is far above the average of other vehicles and manufacturers. The Cadillac DTS and Escalade models both are above-average in reliability as well.  The Cadillac STS has the lowest reliability score among all Cadillac models. Why Cadillacs Are Worth the Maintenance Expense While once known for large luxury coupes or sedans, Cadillac is now branching more into the crossover SUV market. Yet the company is retaining the brand's distinctive styling features and emphasizing the car's impressive performance, impressive technology, owner support, and luxurious feel. For a superior driving experience, nothing tops the Cadillac — even after nearly 120 years of being in business. If you're seeking style and luxury in a domestic automobile, a Cadillac will be your first choice.
